Summary

"Manufacturer" is not a regulated term. Any supplier can print it, and in this category many do while owning no production line. Some of what a supplier claims can be checked independently — patents by number, certifications by scope, machine specifications by whether they are published at all. Other things cannot be established from a website in any market, and treating those as open questions rather than assumptions is what separates a considered purchase from a hopeful one.

Searching for a cold press oil machine manufacturer returns manufacturers, trading companies, and marketplace listings on the same page, described in language that does not distinguish between them. This is a guide to what can be verified from outside a company, using our own record as the worked example — including the parts of it that a buyer cannot confirm without asking us directly.

"Manufacturer" is not a regulated term

No authority certifies the word. A company that designs and builds machines, a company that commissions them from a contract factory, and a company that resells another manufacturer's output can all describe themselves as manufacturers without making a false statement in most jurisdictions.

That leaves the distinction to be drawn from evidence rather than from wording, and a handful of things are checkable from outside. Patents are registered in a named holder and can be looked up by number. Published machine data is either present or absent — a supplier that lists connected load, weight and dimensions for each model has committed to figures that can be held against delivery, and one that lists none has not. A factory address is verifiable. Installation records accumulate over years and cannot be assembled retrospectively.

Each row is checkable without the supplier's cooperation, with the exception of the last. Absence of an item is not proof of misrepresentation, but a supplier unable to produce any of them is describing itself rather than evidencing itself.

The last row is the least formal and often the most informative. Ask a question that requires knowing the machine — what changes when the feedstock changes, what the cake thickness should be, what happens if material enters the press uncooled. A manufacturer answers from process knowledge. A reseller forwards the question.

What a patent number proves, and what it does not

A patent number is the most useful single item on this list because it is independently searchable and because it names its holder. National Engineering holds more than fifty patents, among them Korean Patent No. 10-1614082 for its hydraulic oil press, registered in 2016, and Korean Patent No. 10-2449471 for its cold press, registered in 2022. Both can be retrieved from the Korean patent register by number, which is the point of quoting them rather than quoting a count.

It is worth being precise about what that establishes. A patent shows that a specific claimed invention was registered to a named holder on a date, in one jurisdiction. It is territorial: a Korean registration confers no rights elsewhere and says nothing about whether equivalent protection exists in your market. It is not a quality assessment, and no patent office tests whether a machine works well. It also does not follow that a patented feature is present in the model you are quoted, which is a reasonable question to put to any supplier citing patents.

What a searchable number does do is convert a claim into something falsifiable. A supplier quoting patent counts without numbers has made an assertion; a supplier quoting numbers has handed you the means to check it, and the numbers are either registered to that company or they are not.

A long record is easy to state and harder to substantiate, so it is worth separating what continuity does and does not indicate. Fifty years of production in one product category suggests that parts for older machines are more likely to still exist and that failure modes are likely to be familiar. That is a reasonable inference and a practical one, since parts availability over a machine's operating life is usually a larger cost than the purchase price difference between suppliers.

What it does not indicate is current capability, which is why the dated entries matter more than the span. A registration in 2022 is evidence of recent development activity in a way that a founding date in 1970 is not. Our installation listings work the same way: they record machines leaving as combinations rather than singly, including a Cold Press 100kg dispatched for export alongside a large roaster, a vacuum conveyor and a hot-air washer, which is a line rather than a machine. Read a listing for what it contains and how recent it is, not for its length.

What cannot be checked remotely

Some of what matters most to a buyer is not published by anyone in this category, and it is more useful to say so than to imply otherwise. Four things in particular cannot be established from a website.

Who you would actually contract with in your market is the first. Distribution differs by country, and a manufacturer's website rarely sets out which markets it serves directly and which it serves through partners. The second is who performs service where the machine is installed, and on what response expectation — a warranty statement and a service arrangement are different things, and neither can be inferred from the other. The third is whether a machine can be built for your electrical supply, which is a specification question rather than a commercial one and is covered alongside power supply and import arrangements in our importer's guide. The fourth is whether custom or OEM builds are available at all, which depends on the model and on volume and is not something a general page can answer.

These are the questions we would expect a considered buyer to ask, and we would rather answer them specifically than have a general page read as though it had.

None of this is unique to any one supplier, which is the reason for stating it. A page that appears to answer all five is usually answering none of them precisely. Send the specific question and keep the reply.
